1 Watt x86 Processor from VIA
This fanless 500MHz addition to the VIA Eden ultra low voltage (ULV) processor line has an idle power of just 0.1 watt to meet the low power requirements of a wide range of industrial, commercial and ultra mobile applications. The ultra compact 21mm x 21mm NanoBGA2 package enables the x86 platform to squeeze into a smaller chassis than ever.
The 500MHz Eden ULV can be combined with the ultra compact VIA CX700/M system media processor, an advanced all-in-one digital media chipset with a maximum operating power of just 3.5 watts, supporting a wide range of multimedia, connectivity and storage options and enabling system platforms with a maximum power of less than 10 watts.
Here's a video of the Eden ULV 500MHz being demo'd at Computex 2007 (starts at about 2 min 20 sec into the video). It is running bare without a heatsink. It runs so cool that when the speaker puts his finger onto the CPU, it acts as enough of a heatsink so that the CPU temperature immediately drops! (Thanks to TheEagleCD of epiacenter for the video link!)
