I too am very interested in where this stuff come from, but more in a sector sense. I know it's mostly North American and European; but is it waste from business driven dumping or collections of personal use electronics gathered and sent over-seas? One would thing much could be "re-cycled" into used computers for social programs, but I suppose it would depend on how the waste is generated in the first place.

Is it just me, or does it look like these hard working people are a bit overdressed for the work they are doing? Maybe the PR person had something to do with it?

I also wonder where these components came from -- are they "local" or do they get shipped in from other continents?

The outfits look

The outfits look appropriate. You'd see this all over China. From the charcoal smoke coming out of the stack, it looks like a rather cool day.
